Retreats/Workshops/Programs

Retreats, Workshops, Parish Missions are offered for adults, youth and families on

The Mysteries of the Rosary – History of the Rosary, what are the Mysteries of the Rosary and how do we live those Mysteries in our own lives? For example: how do we carry our cross? How do we help others carry their cross?
o
Prayer – What is prayer?; ways to pray; unanswered prayers; Family prayer.
o
Marian spirituality – understanding Mary in our lives
o
Life Issues – Alcohol or drug abuse, Adoption, Loss of a child or parent, loss of a job, marriage, birth of a child, sickness in family
o
Confirmation – The Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Beatitudes
o
First Communion – Receiving Jesus for the first time and what that means to us
o
Graduation – What will the new challenges be, what are the hopes, what are the fears, how do we prepare for change.
o
Retreats, Workshops, Parish Missions are offered for ½ day, full day, weekends, or several days.
o
They can be held at your location or at the Father Peyton Center in North Easton, MA (video of activity at the center)
o
Topics which you choose can be presented as well.

Family Conference to be held in the summer of 2010 (video someone inviting people to the conference and link to conference brochure for downloadable information such as registration form, general information, information on speakers etc.)
We hope this conference can become an annual event.

· The staff of the Mission Department offers to facilitate this program with students, prayer groups, adult groups and families. There are numerous formats that are possible, depending on the size of the school, parish or group. One of the favorite ways is to visit each classroom, present the history of the Rosary and experience the program using the three symbols: the stone, the egg and the yarn.
· The Family Rosary Annual Pilgrimage ( October 13-24, 2010) typically goes to Ireland each year however this year our journey takes us to Italy for the Canonization of Blessed Bro. Andre Bessette, CSC (picture of Bro. Andre…and clip of his life: also video someone inviting people to go on the pilgrimage)
o Led by Fr. John Phalen, CSC, pilgrims enjoy a week-and-a-half pilgrimage celebrating Mass, praying the Rosary daily together and visiting historic destinations
o Includes must see sights and unique sights known only to the locals
o Time for shopping and visits to local pubs when in Ireland are included in the schedule

· Notre Dame Summer Retreat held each year the first full weekend in August (show pictures from past retreats…some are on shared drive: Video Fr. o An inspiring and uplifting weekend of Prayer, reflection, workshops and fun activities for people of all ages
o Since 1918 with families returning each year

o Accommodations in the college residences
· Try Prayer! It Works! Contest (direct to Try Prayer Page on web with flyer available for download: video someone inviting schools, parishes and children to participate in contest) (or just show someone doing their drawing)
o For students in grades K – 12 in Catholic schools, parishes and other Catholic organizations.
o Attracts more than 40,000 children and teens with 4,000 finalist entries
o Is an opportunity to express their faith through art, poetry or prose.
o Theme for 2010 was “The Family That Prays Together Stays Together”. For 2011 it is: Speak Lord; your servant is listening.
