The mission staff of Family Rosary – Philippines continues Father Peyton’s legacy by working with parish groups, called Family Rosary Crusade Units. These groups work within their local parish to promote family prayer. Recently, a new group was formed at St. Vincent Ferrer parish in Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya (Diocese of Bayombong) and its officers and members were inducted. Father Resty Valdez, parish priest, presided over the induction. This was the first FRC unit in the diocese.
A concelebrated Mass was held during the occasion. Joining the Eucharistic celebration were three Holy Cross priests: Fathers Emmanuel, provincial superior of Northeast India; Arul Raj, director of Family Rosary in India; and Roque D'Costa, executive director of FRC Philippines. Father Resty also concelebrated.
The newly inducted members and officers were enthusiastic and pledged to promote Marian devotion and the Family Rosary in their community. Dr. Virginia Laccay, the first FRC coordinator in the parish, will coordinate all efforts with the vision and mission of the parish.
Nonoy Diaz, FRC coordinator at Mary the Immaculate Conception parish in Quezon City, and Tess Alonzo of FRC Philippines, saw to the preparations for the ceremony.
The group made a courtesy visit to Bishop Ramon Villena, who was pleased with the establishment of the unit and encouraged them to establish more units in the diocese.
