"Joy to the World!"
A message from Fr. John Phalen, CSC - president of Holy Cross Family Ministries
There is little doubt that Christmas is the most joyous time of the year. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is cause for celebration and for thanking God for the arrival of our Savior!
This year, “Joy to the World!” is the theme of the Try Prayer! It Works! Contest. The Third Joyful Mystery tells the story of The Nativity with Jesus, Mary and Joseph participating in the ultimate family moment. This sharing of love for the birth of His Son shows us God’s hope that we will always be united in compassion and caring as a family.
What does The Nativity mean to you? How does your family celebrate the birth
of Jesus? How do you celebrate this truly beautiful moment and keep its meaning in
your daily life? What do you do to keep the feeling of the Savior’s arrival in your heart every day?
The lesson of The Nativity helps us appreciate the importance of family, caring and God’s unconditional love. The Third Joyful Mystery of the Rosary teaches us that joyful compassion for all God’s people is esessential to a strong faith. When we embrace this, we truly know the meaning of “Joy to the World!”
Let Mary inspire your creativity in the form of artwork, a poem or an essay to show how you feel about The Nativity. Good luck and God bless!
