" Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you shall forgive they are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” " John 20:21-23
Holy Father in heaven, on this Divine Mercy Sunday, we thank you with grateful hearts for the gift of the forgiveness of sins. We know you created us and in your justice you condemned us for our many sins. But out of love for us, even while we were still in our sins, you sent your Only Son to win for us mercy and forgiveness through his Suffering, Death and Resurrection. This ocean of mercy is available to us through your sacrament of healing and forgiveness.
Make us truly humble in approaching the Lord of Mercy in Confession often. We pray through Christ our Lord.
