REFLECTION: The Easter Season continues until Pentecost, fifty days from now. The week following the Feast of the Resurrection (Easter), should be joyous and intense. It is a time to be lavish with praise and thanksgiving and with enjoyment of God’s good gifts.

PRAYER: Rejoice, Queen of Heaven
Rejoice, Queen of heaven, alleluia!
The Son whom you did lay
To rest in sorrow, alleluia!
Has risen as he said, alleluia!
Pray for us to God, Alleluia.
12th Century hymn

FAMILY DISCUSSION/ACTIVITY:

Monday: As part of the festive mood of this season, make a special treat with the family. Try baking an Easter bread or buy a Polish or Ukrainian bread.

Tuesday: Take time today to reflect on the meaning of the Resurrection. Read some materials on the subject.

Wednesday: Pray with the family the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. Pray for the place that Jesus has given us in the Resurrection.

Thursday: As a sign of resurrection and the hope it gives, assist in some way today those who need a helping hand.

Friday: Continue the joyous season of Easter with a special family meal.

Saturday: In preparation for Sunday’s Eucharistic liturgy, read and reflect on this Sunday’s readings: Acts 2:42-47, 1 Peter 1:3-9 John 20:19-31

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we pray with hearts full of joy and thanks for your gift of new life. Bless those whose hearts are frozen with sorrow and fear and worry. Warm them, soften them, cheer them. Amen.
